I never expected having a baby to suck all the creativity out of my brain for so long. All forms of writing, drawing and creating went right out the window once I was pregnant. Now I find myself mother to an (almost!) 3 year old and finally I feel like I can think again. It's been nearly 4 years since I've seriously drawn anything. I never intended to neglect my art for so long but life had other ideas. In that time we also moved from North Carolina to Florida, had my drawing laptop die completely and I returned to my full time career of being a Head Veterinary Technician.
I started back at a couple PBEM games for Dragonrider's of Pern last summer and suddenly all the muses are speaking again. There are a lot of old projects and I don't know if I can pick back up where I left off but I do intend on starting over if the urge strikes. I'm back to drawing colorful little dragons and thrilled my technique hasn't taken steps backwards from my last piece in 2012. I've accepted the fact that I don't have the time to try and earn money through art. I'm okay with this. I draw for me and I draw for my friends, that's really all I need.
I've really cleaned out my folders and resorted all my art. Many, many pieces were stuck in storage. If it's something I've drawn for you, don't worry it's not gone forever. I can always dig drawings back up when necessary.
Stay tuned for some new drawings as they happen. It's good to be back.
